Coppell – Dallas County Texas
History
The Coppell Texas area earlier settled by the French and German immigrants in the year 1840, while the members of the Peters Colony was also seen settling down there in the 1840s. It originally named as Gibbs Station after the man called Barnett Gibbs, which is a town that is renamed in 1892 with the person known as George Coppell, who happened to be a rich financier from the UK who had come to the US in the 1880 and the man responsible for completing the final construction of the railroad line of the town. One of the popular beliefs for this man was that he was an engineer as well but there is hardly any documentary proof to support this claim.
In the year 1955, the community was seen incorporated via a ballot measure, which was seen getting passed with a vote of 41 to 1. It is spurred by the opening of the Airport at Dallas or Fort in the year 1974 which is nothing but a city that is positively transmitted from a small farming village to a big and upper-middle-class suburban community in the 1980s and the 1990s. By the end of 2000, around a large chunk of residential areas was zoned in the city, which was developed and the population was seen growing over 35,000. Additionally, to the suburban homes, the city was seen growing the commercial base of the transportation and warehouse centers over the west and south sides of the city that remains close to accessibility to the DFW airport.
